| Luke 22:1 Appropinquat autem dies festus azymorum, qui dicitur Pascha: | Luke 22:1 ἤγγιζεν δὲ ἡ ἑορτὴ τῶν ἀζύμων ἡ λεγομένη πάσχα | Luke 22:1 Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover. |
| 22:2 et quærebant principes sacerdotum, et scribæ, quomodo Jesum interficerent: timebant vero plebem. | 22:2 καὶ ἐζήτουν οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς τὸ πῶς ἀνέλωσιν αὐτόν ἐφοβοῦντο γὰρ τὸν λαόν | 22:2 And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people. |
| 22:3 Intravit autem Satanas in Judam, qui cognominabatur Iscariotes, unum de duodecim: | 22:3 εἰσῆλθεν δὲ ὁ σατανᾶς εἰς ἰούδαν τὸν ἐπικαλούμενον ἰσκαριώτην ὄντα ἐκ τοῦ ἀριθμοῦ τῶν δώδεκα | 22:3 Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. |
| 22:4 et abiit, et locutus est cum principibus sacerdotum, et magistratibus, quemadmodum illum traderet eis. | 22:4 καὶ ἀπελθὼν συνελάλησεν τοῖς ἀρχιερεῦσιν καὶ τοῖς στρατηγοῖς τὸ πῶς αὐτόν παραδῷ αὐτοῖς | 22:4 And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them. |

| 22:6 Et spopondit, et quærebat opportunitatem ut traderet illum sine turbis. | 22:6 καὶ ἐξωμολόγησεν καὶ ἐζήτει εὐκαιρίαν τοῦ παραδοῦναι αὐτὸν αὐτοῖς ἄτερ ὄχλου | 22:6 And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude. |
| 22:7 Venit autem dies azymorum, in qua necesse erat occidi pascha. | 22:7 ἦλθεν δὲ ἡ ἡμέρα τῶν ἀζύμων ἐν ᾗ ἔδει θύεσθαι τὸ πάσχα | 22:7 Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed. |

| Luke 22:10 Et dixit ad eos: Ecce introëuntibus vobis in civitatem occurret vobis homo quidam amphoram aquæ portans: sequimini eum in domum, in quam intrat, | Luke 22:10 ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ἰδού, εἰσελθόντων ὑμῶν εἰς τὴν πόλιν συναντήσει ὑμῖν ἄνθρωπος κεράμιον ὕδατος βαστάζων ἀκολουθήσατε αὐτῷ εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν οὗ εἰσπορεύεται | Luke 22:10 And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in. |
| 22:11 et dicetis patrifamilias domus: Dicit tibi Magister: Ubi est diversorium, ubi pascha cum discipulis meis manducem? | 22:11 καὶ ἐρεῖτε τῷ οἰκοδεσπότῃ τῆς οἰκίας λέγει σοι ὁ διδάσκαλος ποῦ ἐστιν τὸ κατάλυμα ὅπου τὸ πάσχα μετὰ τῶν μαθητῶν μου φάγω | 22:11 And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? |
| 22:12 Et ipse ostendet vobis cœnaculum magnum stratum, et ibi parate. | 22:12 κἀκεῖνος ὑμῖν δείξει ἀνώγεον μέγα ἐστρωμένον ἐκεῖ ἑτοιμάσατε | 22:12 And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready. |
| 22:13 Euntes autem invenerunt sicut dixit illis, et paraverunt pascha. | 22:13 ἀπελθόντες δὲ εὗρον καθὼς εἰρήκεν αὐτοῖς καὶ ἡτοίμασαν τὸ πάσχα | 22:13 And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover. |
| 22:14 Et cum facta esset hora, discubuit, et duodecim apostoli cum eo. | 22:14 καὶ ὅτε ἐγένετο ἡ ὥρα ἀνέπεσεν καὶ οἱ δώδεκα ἀπόστολοι σὺν αὐτῷ | 22:14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him. |
| 22:15 Et ait illis: Desiderio desideravi hoc pascha manducare vobiscum, antequam patiar. | 22:15 καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς ἐπιθυμίᾳ ἐπεθύμησα τοῦτο τὸ πάσχα φαγεῖν μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν πρὸ τοῦ με παθεῖν | 22:15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: |
| 22:16 Dico enim vobis, quia ex hoc non manducabo illud, donec impleatur in regno Dei. | 22:16 λέγω γὰρ ὑμῖν ὅτι οὐκέτι οὐ μὴ φάγω ἐξ αὐτοῦ, ἕως ὅτου πληρωθῇ ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τοῦ θεοῦ | 22:16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. |
| 22:17 Et accepto calice gratias egit, et dixit: Accipite, et dividite inter vos. | 22:17 καὶ δεξάμενος ποτήριον εὐχαριστήσας εἶπεν λάβετε τοῦτο καὶ διαμερίσατε ἑαυτοῖς | 22:17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves: |
| 22:18 Dico enim vobis quod non bibam de generatione vitis donec regnum Dei veniat. | 22:18 λέγω γὰρ ὑμῖν ὅτι οὐ μὴ πίω ἀπὸ τοῦ γεννήματος τῆς ἀμπέλου ἕως ὅτου ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ ἔλθῃ | 22:18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. |
| 22:19 Et accepto pane gratias egit, et fregit, et dedit eis, dicens: Hoc est corpus meum, quod pro vobis datur: hoc facite in meam commemorationem. | 22:19 καὶ λαβὼν ἄρτον εὐχαριστήσας ἔκλασεν καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς λέγων, τοῦτό ἐστιν τὸ σῶμά μου τὸ ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν διδόμενον τοῦτο ποιεῖτε εἰς τὴν ἐμὴν ἀνάμνησιν | 22:19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. |
| Luke 22:20 Similiter et calicem, postquam cœnavit, dicens: Hic est calix novum testamentum in sanguine meo, qui pro vobis fundetur. | Luke 22:20 ὡσαύτως καὶ τὸ ποτήριον μετὰ τὸ δειπνῆσαι λέγων, τοῦτο τὸ ποτήριον ἡ καινὴ διαθήκη ἐν τῷ αἵματί μου τὸ ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν ἐκχυνόμενον | Luke 22:20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. |
| 22:21 Verumtamen ecce manus tradentis me, mecum est in mensa. | 22:21 πλὴν ἰδού, ἡ χεὶρ τοῦ παραδιδόντος με μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ ἐπὶ τῆς τραπέζης | 22:21 But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table. |
| 22:22 Et quidem Filius hominis, secundum quod definitum est, vadit: verumtamen væ homini illi per quem tradetur. | 22:22 καὶ ὁ μὲν υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου πορεύεται κατὰ τὸ ὡρισμένον πλὴν οὐαὶ τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ ἐκείνῳ δι᾽ οὗ παραδίδοται | 22:22 And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed! |
| 22:23 Et ipsi cœperunt quærere inter se quis esset ex eis qui hoc facturus esset. | 22:23 καὶ αὐτοὶ ἤρξαντο συζητεῖν πρὸς ἑαυτοὺς τὸ τίς ἄρα εἴη ἐξ αὐτῶν ὁ τοῦτο μέλλων πράσσειν | 22:23 And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing. |
| 22:24 Facta est autem et contentio inter eos, quis eorum videretur esse major. | 22:24 ἐγένετο δὲ καὶ φιλονεικία ἐν αὐτοῖς τὸ τίς αὐτῶν δοκεῖ εἶναι μείζων | 22:24 And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest. |
| 22:25 Dixit autem eis: Reges gentium dominantur eorum: et qui potestatem habent super eos, benefici vocantur. | 22:25 ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς οἱ βασιλεῖς τῶν ἐθνῶν κυριεύουσιν αὐτῶν καὶ οἱ ἐξουσιάζοντες αὐτῶν εὐεργέται καλοῦνται | 22:25 And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. |
| 22:26 Vos autem non sic: sed qui major est in vobis, fiat sicut minor: et qui præcessor est, sicut ministrator. | 22:26 ὑμεῖς δὲ οὐχ οὕτως ἀλλ᾽ ὁ μείζων ἐν ὑμῖν γενέσθω ὡς ὁ νεώτερος καὶ ὁ ἡγούμενος ὡς ὁ διακονῶν | 22:26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. |
| 22:27 Nam quis major est, qui recumbit, an qui ministrat? nonne qui recumbit? Ego autem in medio vestrum sum, sicut qui ministrat: | 22:27 τίς γὰρ μείζων ὁ ἀνακείμενος ἢ ὁ διακονῶν οὐχὶ ὁ ἀνακείμενος ἐγὼ δὲ εἰμι ἐν μέσῳ ὑμῶν ὡς ὁ διακονῶν | 22:27 For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth. |
| 22:28 vos autem estis, qui permansistis mecum in tentationibus meis. | 22:28 ὑμεῖς δέ ἐστε οἱ διαμεμενηκότες μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ ἐν τοῖς πειρασμοῖς μου | 22:28 Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. |
| 22:29 Et ego dispono vobis sicut disposuit mihi Pater meus regnum, | 22:29 κἀγὼ διατίθεμαι ὑμῖν καθὼς διέθετό μοι ὁ πατήρ μου βασιλείαν | 22:29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; |
| Luke 22:30 ut edatis et bibatis super mensam meam in regno meo, et sedeatis super thronos judicantes duodecim tribus Israël. | Luke 22:30 ἵνα ἐσθίητε καὶ πίνητε ἐπὶ τῆς τραπέζης μου ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ μου καὶ καθίσησθε ἐπὶ θρόνων κρίνοντες τὰς δώδεκα φυλὰς τοῦ ἰσραήλ | Luke 22:30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. |
| 22:31 Ait autem Dominus: Simon, Simon, ecce Satanas expetivit vos ut cribraret sicut triticum: | 22:31 εἶπεν δὲ ὁ κύριος, σίμων σίμων ἰδού, ὁ σατανᾶς ἐξῃτήσατο ὑμᾶς τοῦ σινιάσαι ὡς τὸν σῖτον | 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: |
| 22:32 ego autem rogavi pro te ut non deficiat fides tua: et tu aliquando conversus, confirma fratres tuos. | 22:32 ἐγὼ δὲ ἐδεήθην περὶ σοῦ ἵνα μὴ ἐκλείπῃ ἡ πίστις σου καὶ σύ ποτε ἐπιστρέψας στήριξον τοὺς ἀδελφούς σου | 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. |
| 22:33 Qui dixit ei: Domine, tecum paratus sum et in carcerem et in mortem ire. | 22:33 ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῷ κύριε μετὰ σοῦ ἕτοιμός εἰμι καὶ εἰς φυλακὴν καὶ εἰς θάνατον πορεύεσθαι | 22:33 And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death. |
| 22:34 At ille dixit: Dico tibi, Petre, non cantabit hodie gallus, donec ter abneges nosse me. Et dixit eis: | 22:34 ὁ δὲ εἶπεν λέγω σοι πέτρε οὐ μή φωνήσει σήμερον ἀλέκτωρ πρὶν ἢ τρίς ἀπαρνήσῃ μή εἰδέναι με | 22:34 And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me. |
| 22:35 Quando misi vos sine sacculo, et pera, et calceamentis, numquid aliquid defuit vobis? | 22:35 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὅτε ἀπέστειλα ὑμᾶς ἄτερ βαλαντίου καὶ πήρας καὶ ὑποδημάτων μή τινος ὑστερήσατε οἱ δὲ εἶπον, οὐδενός | 22:35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing. |
| 22:36 At illi dixerunt: Nihil. Dixit ergo eis: Sed nunc qui habet sacculum, tollat; similiter et peram: et qui non habet, vendat tunicam suam et emat gladium. | 22:36 εἶπεν οὖν αὐτοῖς ἀλλὰ νῦν ὁ ἔχων βαλάντιον ἀράτω ὁμοίως καὶ πήραν καὶ ὁ μὴ ἔχων πωλησάτω τὸ ἱμάτιον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀγορασάτω μάχαιραν | 22:36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. |
| 22:37 Dico enim vobis, quoniam adhuc hoc quod scriptum est, oportet impleri in me: Et cum iniquis deputatus est. Etenim ea quæ sunt de me finem habent. | 22:37 λέγω γὰρ ὑμῖν ὅτι ἔτι τοῦτο τὸ γεγραμμένον δεῖ τελεσθῆναι ἐν ἐμοί τὸ καὶ μετὰ ἀνόμων ἐλογίσθη καὶ γὰρ τὰ περὶ ἐμοῦ τέλος ἔχει | 22:37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end. |
| 22:38 At illi dixerunt: Domine, ecce duo gladii hic. At ille dixit eis: Satis est. | 22:38 οἱ δὲ εἶπον, κύριε ἰδού, μάχαιραι ὧδε δύο ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ἱκανόν ἐστιν | 22:38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough. |
| 22:39 Et egressus ibat secundum consuetudinem in monte Olivarum. Secuti sunt autem illum et discipuli. | 22:39 καὶ ἐξελθὼν ἐπορεύθη κατὰ τὸ ἔθος εἰς τὸ ὄρος τῶν ἐλαιῶν ἠκολούθησαν δὲ αὐτῷ καὶ οἱ μαθηταί αὐτοῦ | 22:39 And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him. |
| Luke 22:40 Et cum pervenisset ad locum, dixit illis: Orate ne intretis in tentationem. | Luke 22:40 γενόμενος δὲ ἐπὶ τοῦ τόπου εἶπεν αὐτοῖς προσεύχεσθε μὴ εἰσελθεῖν εἰς πειρασμόν | Luke 22:40 And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation. |
| 22:41 Et ipse avulsus est ab eis quantum jactus est lapidis: et positis genibus orabat, | 22:41 καὶ αὐτὸς ἀπεσπάσθη ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν ὡσεὶ λίθου βολήν καὶ θεὶς τὰ γόνατα προσηύχετο | 22:41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, |
| 22:42 dicens: Pater, si vis, transfer calicem istum a me: verumtamen non mea voluntas, sed tua fiat. | 22:42 λέγων, πάτερ εἰ βούλει παρενεγκεῖν τὸ ποτήριον τοῦτο ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ πλὴν μὴ τὸ θέλημά μου ἀλλὰ τὸ σὸν γενέσθω | 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. |
| 22:43 Apparuit autem illi angelus de cælo, confortans eum. Et factus in agonia, prolixius orabat. | 22:43 ὤφθη δὲ αὐτῷ ἄγγελος ἀπ᾽ οὐρανοῦ ἐνισχύων αὐτόν | 22:43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. |
| 22:44 Et factus est sudor ejus sicut guttæ sanguinis decurrentis in terram. | 22:44 καὶ γενόμενος ἐν ἀγωνίᾳ ἐκτενέστερον προσηύχετο ἐγένετο δὲ ὁ ἱδρὼς αὐτοῦ ὡσεὶ θρόμβοι αἵματος καταβαίνοντες ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν | 22:44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. |
| 22:45 Et cum surrexisset ab oratione et venisset ad discipulos suos, invenit eos dormientes præ tristitia. | 22:45 καὶ ἀναστὰς ἀπὸ τῆς προσευχῆς ἐλθὼν πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς εὗρεν αὐτοὺς κοιμωμένους ἀπὸ τῆς λύπης | 22:45 And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow, |
| 22:46 Et ait illis: Quid dormitis? surgite, orate, ne intretis in tentationem. | 22:46 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς τί καθεύδετε ἀναστάντες προσεύχεσθε ἵνα μὴ εἰσέλθητε εἰς πειρασμόν | 22:46 And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. |
| 22:47 Adhuc eo loquente, ecce turba: et qui vocabatur Judas, unus de duodecim, antecedebat eos, et appropinquavit Jesu ut oscularetur eum. | 22:47 ἕτι δέ αὐτοῦ λαλοῦντος ἰδού, ὄχλος καὶ ὁ λεγόμενος ἰούδας εἷς τῶν δώδεκα προήρχετο αὐτῶν, καὶ ἤγγισεν τῷ ἰησοῦ φιλῆσαι αὐτόν | 22:47 And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him. |
| 22:48 Jesus autem dixit illi: Juda, osculo Filium hominis tradis? | 22:48 ὁ δὲ ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτῷ ἰούδα φιλήματι τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου παραδίδως | 22:48 But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss? |
| 22:49 Videntes autem hi qui circa ipsum erant, quod futurum erat, dixerunt ei: Domine, si percutimus in gladio? | 22:49 ἰδόντες δὲ οἱ περὶ αὐτὸν τὸ ἐσόμενον εἶπον αὐτῷ, κύριε εἰ πατάξομεν ἐν μαχαίρᾳ | 22:49 When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword? |
| Luke 22:50 Et percussit unus ex illis servum principis sacerdotum, et amputavit auriculam ejus dexteram. | Luke 22:50 καὶ ἐπάταξεν εἷς τις ἐξ αὐτῶν τὸν δοῦλον τοῦ ἀρχιερέως καὶ ἀφεῖλεν αὐτοῦ τὸ οὖς τὸ δεξιόν | Luke 22:50 And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear. |
| 22:51 Respondens autem Jesus, ait: Sinite usque huc. Et cum tetigisset auriculam ejus, sanavit eum. | 22:51 ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ ἰησοῦς εἶπεν ἐᾶτε ἕως τούτου καὶ ἁψάμενος τοῦ ὠτίου αὐτοῦ ἰάσατο αὐτόν | 22:51 And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him. |
| 22:52 Dixit autem Jesus ad eos qui venerant ad se principes sacerdotum, et magistratus templi, et seniores: Quasi ad latronem existis cum gladiis et fustibus? | 22:52 εἶπεν δὲ ὁ ἰησοῦς πρὸς τοὺς παραγενομένους ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ στρατηγοὺς τοῦ ἱεροῦ καὶ πρεσβυτέρους ης ἐπὶ λῃστὴν ἐξεληλύθατε μετὰ μαχαιρῶν καὶ ξύλων | 22:52 Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves? |

| 22:54 Comprehendentes autem eum, duxerunt ad domum principis sacerdotum: Petrus vero sequebatur a longe. | 22:54 συλλαβόντες δὲ αὐτὸν ἤγαγον καὶ εἰσήγαγον αὐτὸν εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ ἀρχιερέως ὁ δὲ πέτρος ἠκολούθει μακρόθεν | 22:54 Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed afar off. |
| 22:55 Accenso autem igne in medio atrii et circumsedentibus illis, erat Petrus in medio eorum. | 22:55 ἀψάντων δὲ πῦρ ἐν μέσῳ τῆς αὐλῆς καὶ συγκαθισάντων αὐτῶν ἐκάθητο ὁ πέτρος ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν, | 22:55 And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them. |
| 22:56 Quem cum vidisset ancilla quædam sedentem ad lumen, et eum fuisset intuita, dixit: Et hic cum illo erat. | 22:56 ἰδοῦσα δὲ αὐτὸν παιδίσκη τις καθήμενον πρὸς τὸ φῶς καὶ ἀτενίσασα αὐτῷ εἶπεν καὶ οὗτος σὺν αὖτῷ ἦν | 22:56 But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him. |
| 22:57 At ille negavit eum, dicens: Mulier, non novi illum. | 22:57 ὁ δὲ ἠρνήσατο αὐτόν λέγων, γύναι, οὐκ οἶδα αὐτὸν | 22:57 And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not. |
| 22:58 Et post pusillum alius videns eum, dixit: Et tu de illis es. Petrus vero ait: O homo, non sum. | 22:58 καὶ μετὰ βραχὺ ἕτερος ἰδὼν αὐτὸν ἔφη καὶ σὺ ἐξ αὐτῶν εἶ ὁ δὲ πέτρος εἴπεν, ἄνθρωπε οὐκ εἰμί | 22:58 And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not. |
| 22:59 Et intervallo facto quasi horæ unius, alius quidam affirmabat, dicens: Vere et hic cum illo erat: nam et Galilæus est. | 22:59 καὶ διαστάσης ὡσεὶ ὥρας μιᾶς ἄλλος τις διϊσχυρίζετο λέγων, ἐπ ἀληθείας καὶ οὗτος μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἦν καὶ γὰρ γαλιλαῖός ἐστιν | 22:59 And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean. |

And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew. |
| 22:61 Et conversus Dominus respexit Petrum, et recordatus est Petrus verbi Domini, sicut dixerat: Quia priusquam gallus cantet, ter me negabis. | 22:61 καὶ στραφεὶς ὁ κύριος ἐνέβλεψεν τῷ πέτρῳ καὶ ὑπεμνήσθη ὁ πέτρος τοῦ λόγου τοῦ κυρίου ὡς εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὅτι πρὶν ἀλέκτορα φωνῆσαι ἀπαρνήσῃ με τρίς | 22:61 And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. |
| 22:62 Et egressus foras Petrus flevit amare. | 22:62 καὶ ἐξελθὼν ἔξω ὁ πέτρος ἔκλαυσεν πικρῶς | 22:62 And Peter went out, and wept bitterly. |
| 22:63 Et viri qui tenebant illum, illudebant ei, cædentes. | 22:63 καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες οἱ συνέχοντες τὸν ἰησοῦν ἐνέπαιζον αὐτῷ δέροντες | 22:63 And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him. |
| 22:64 Et velaverunt eum, et percutiebant faciem ejus: et interrogabant eum, dicentes: Prophetiza, quis est, qui te percussit? | 22:64 καὶ περικαλύψαντες αὐτὸν ἔτυπτον αὐτοῦ τὸ πρόσωπον, καὶ ἐπηρώτων αὐτὸν, λέγοντες προφήτευσον τίς ἐστιν ὁ παίσας σε | 22:64 And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee? |
| 22:65 Et alia multa blasphemantes dicebant in eum. | 22:65 καὶ ἕτερα πολλὰ βλασφημοῦντες ἔλεγον εἰς αὐτόν | 22:65 And many other things blasphemously spake they against him. |
| 22:66 Et ut factus est dies, convenerunt seniores plebis, et principes sacerdotum, et scribæ, et duxerunt illum in concilium suum, dicentes: Si tu es Christus, dic nobis. | 22:66 καὶ ὡς ἐγένετο ἡμέρα συνήχθη τὸ πρεσβυτέριον τοῦ λαοῦ ἀρχιερεῖς τε καὶ γραμματεῖς καὶ ἀνήγαγον αὐτὸν εἰς τὸ συνέδριον ἑαυτῶν, λέγοντες | 22:66 And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying, |
| 22:67 Et ait illis: Si vobis dixero, non credetis mihi: | 22:67 εἰ σὺ εἶ ὁ χριστός εἰπὲ ἡμῖν εἶπεν δὲ αὐτοῖς ἐὰν ὑμῖν εἴπω οὐ μὴ πιστεύσητε | 22:67 Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe: |
| 22:68 si autem et interrogavero, non respondebitis mihi, neque dimittetis. | 22:68 ἐὰν δὲ καὶ ἐρωτήσω οὐ μὴ ἀποκριθῆτε μοι, ἢ ἀπολύσητε | 22:68 And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go. |
| 22:69 Ex hoc autem erit Filius hominis sedens a dextris virtutis Dei. | 22:69 ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν ἔσται ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου καθήμενος ἐκ δεξιῶν τῆς δυνάμεως τοῦ θεοῦ | 22:69 Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God. |
