ACTS CHAPTER 6
Latin Vulgate | Greek Textus Receptus | English King James |
---|---|---|
Acts 6:1 In diebus illis, crescente numero discipulorum, factum est murmur Græcorum adversus Hebræos, eo quod despicerentur in ministerio quotidiano viduæ eorum. | Acts 6:1 ἐν δὲ ταῖς ἡμέραις ταύταις πληθυνόντων τῶν μαθητῶν ἐγένετο γογγυσμὸς τῶν ἑλληνιστῶν πρὸς τοὺς ἑβραίους ὅτι παρεθεωροῦντο ἐν τῇ διακονίᾳ τῇ καθημερινῇ αἱ χῆραι αὐτῶν | Acts 6:1 And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration. |
6:2 Convocantes autem duodecim multitudinem discipulorum, dixerunt: Non est æquum nos derelinquere verbum Dei, et ministrare mensis. | 6:2 προσκαλεσάμενοι δὲ οἱ δώδεκα τὸ πλῆθος τῶν μαθητῶν εἶπον, οὐκ ἀρεστόν ἐστιν ἡμᾶς καταλείψαντας τὸν λόγον τοῦ θεοῦ διακονεῖν τραπέζαις | 6:2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. |
6:3 Considerate ergo, fratres, viros ex vobis boni testimonii septem, plenos Spiritu Sancto et sapientia, quos constituamus super hoc opus. | 6:3 ἐπισκέψασθε οὖν, ἀδελφοί ἄνδρας ἐξ ὑμῶν μαρτυρουμένους ἑπτὰ πλήρεις πνεύματος ἅγιου καὶ σοφίας οὓς καταστήσομεν ἐπὶ τῆς χρείας ταύτης | 6:3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. |
6:4 Nos vero orationi et ministerio verbi instantes erimus. | 6:4 ἡμεῖς δὲ τῇ προσευχῇ καὶ τῇ διακονίᾳ τοῦ λόγου προσκαρτερήσομεν | 6:4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. |
6:5 Et placuit sermo coram omni multitudine. Et elegerunt Stephanum, virum plenum fide et Spiritu Sancto, et Philippum, et Prochorum, et Nicanorem, et Timonem, et Parmenam, et Nicolaum advenam Antiochenum. | 6:5 καὶ ἤρεσεν ὁ λόγος ἐνώπιον παντὸς τοῦ πλήθους καὶ ἐξελέξαντο στέφανον ἄνδρα πλήρη πίστεως καὶ πνεύματος ἁγίου καὶ φίλιππον καὶ πρόχορον καὶ νικάνορα καὶ τίμωνα καὶ παρμενᾶν καὶ νικόλαον προσήλυτον ἀντιοχέα | 6:5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch: |
6:6 Hos statuerunt ante conspectum Apostolorum: et orantes imposuerunt eis manus. | 6:6 οὓς ἔστησαν ἐνώπιον τῶν ἀποστόλων καὶ προσευξάμενοι ἐπέθηκαν αὐτοῖς τὰς χεῖρας | 6:6 Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them. |
6:7 Et verbum Domini crescebat, et multiplicabatur numerus discipulorum in Jerusalem valde: multa etiam turba sacerdotum obediebat fidei. | 6:7 καὶ ὁ λόγος τοῦ θεοῦ ηὔξανεν καὶ ἐπληθύνετο ὁ ἀριθμὸς τῶν μαθητῶν ἐν ἰερουσαλὴμ σφόδρα πολύς τε ὄχλος τῶν ἱερέων ὑπήκουον τῇ πίστει | 6:7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith. |
6:8 Stephanus autem plenus gratia et fortitudine, faciebat prodigia et signa magna in populo. | 6:8 στέφανος δὲ πλήρης πίστεως καὶ δυνάμεως ἐποίει τέρατα καὶ σημεῖα μεγάλα ἐν τῷ λαῷ | 6:8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people. |
6:9 Surrexerunt autem quidam de synagoga quæ appellatur Libertinorum, et Cyrenensium, et Alexandrinorum, et eorum qui erant a Cilicia, et Asia, disputantes cum Stephano: | 6:9 ἀνέστησαν δέ τινες τῶν ἐκ τῆς συναγωγῆς τῆς λεγομένης λιβερτίνων καὶ κυρηναίων καὶ ἀλεξανδρέων καὶ τῶν ἀπὸ κιλικίας καὶ ἀσίας συζητοῦντες τῷ στεφάνῳ | 6:9 Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen. |
Acts 6:10 et non poterant resistere sapientiæ, et Spiritui qui loquebatur. | Acts 6:10 καὶ οὐκ ἴσχυον ἀντιστῆναι τῇ σοφίᾳ καὶ τῷ πνεύματι ᾧ ἐλάλει | Acts 6:10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake. |
6:11 Tunc summiserunt viros, qui dicerent se audivisse eum dicentem verba blasphemiæ in Moysen et in Deum. | 6:11 τότε ὑπέβαλον ἄνδρας λέγοντας ὅτι ἀκηκόαμεν αὐτοῦ λαλοῦντος ῥήματα βλάσφημα εἰς μωσῆν καὶ τὸν θεόν | 6:11 Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God. |
6:12 Commoverunt itaque plebem, et seniores, et scribas: et concurrentes rapuerunt eum, et adduxerunt in concilium, | 6:12 συνεκίνησάν τε τὸν λαὸν καὶ τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους καὶ τοὺς γραμματεῖς καὶ ἐπιστάντες συνήρπασαν αὐτὸν καὶ ἤγαγον εἰς τὸ συνέδριον | 6:12 And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council, |
6:13 et statuerunt falsos testes, qui dicerent: Homo iste non cessat loqui verba adversus locum sanctum, et legem: | 6:13 ἔστησάν τε μάρτυρας ψευδεῖς λέγοντας ὁ ἄνθρωπος οὗτος οὐ παύεται ῥήματα βλάσφημα λαλῶν κατὰ τοῦ τόπου τοῦ ἁγίου τούτου καὶ τοῦ νόμου | 6:13 And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law: |
6:14 audivimus enim eum dicentem quoniam Jesus Nazarenus hic destruet locum istum, et mutabit traditiones quas tradidit nobis Moyses. | 6:14 ἀκηκόαμεν γὰρ αὐτοῦ λέγοντος ὅτι ἰησοῦς ὁ ναζωραῖος οὗτος καταλύσει τὸν τόπον τοῦτον καὶ ἀλλάξει τὰ ἔθη ἃ παρέδωκεν ἡμῖν μωϋσῆς | 6:14 For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us. |
6:15 Et intuentes eum omnes qui sedebant in concilio, viderunt faciem ejus tamquam faciem angeli. | 6:15 καὶ ἀτενίσαντες εἰς αὐτὸν ἅπάντες οἱ καθεζόμενοι ἐν τῷ συνεδρίῳ εἶδον τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ ὡσεὶ πρόσωπον ἀγγέλου | 6:15 And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel. |
