ACTS CHAPTER 9
Latin Vulgate | Greek Textus Receptus | English King James |
---|---|---|
Acts 9:1 Saulus autem adhuc spirans minarum et cædis in discipulos Domini, accessit ad principem sacerdotum, | Acts 9:1 ὁ δὲ σαῦλος ἔτι ἐμπνέων ἀπειλῆς καὶ φόνου εἰς τοὺς μαθητὰς τοῦ κυρίου προσελθὼν τῷ ἀρχιερεῖ | Acts 9:1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, |
| 9:2 ᾐτήσατο παρ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἐπιστολὰς εἰς δαμασκὸν πρὸς τὰς συναγωγάς ὅπως ἐάν τινας εὕρῃ τῆς ὁδοῦ ὄντας ἄνδρας τε καὶ γυναῖκας δεδεμένους ἀγάγῃ εἰς ἰερουσαλήμ | 9:2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. |
| 9:3 ἐν δὲ τῷ πορεύεσθαι ἐγένετο αὐτὸν ἐγγίζειν τῇ δαμασκῷ καὶ ἐξαίφνης περιήστραψεν αὐτὸν φῶς ἀπὸ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ | 9:3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: |
9:4 Et cadens in terram audivit vocem dicentem sibi: Saule, Saule, quid me persequeris? | 9:4 καὶ πεσὼν ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ἤκουσεν φωνὴν λέγουσαν αὐτῷ σαοὺλ σαούλ τί με διώκεις | 9:4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? |
9:5 Qui dixit: Quis es, domine? Et ille: Ego sum Jesus, quem tu persequeris: durum est tibi contra stimulum calcitrare. | 9:5 εἶπεν δέ τίς εἶ κύριε ὁ δέ κύριος εἶπεν, ἐγώ εἰμι ἰησοῦς ὃν σὺ διώκεις σκληρόν σοι πρὸς κέντρα λακτίζειν | 9:5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. |
| 9:6 τρέμων τε καὶ θαμβῶν εἶπεν κύριε τί μέ θέλεις ποιῆσαι καὶ ὅ κύριος πρός αὐτόν ἀνάστηθι καὶ εἴσελθε εἰς τὴν πόλιν καὶ λαληθήσεταί σοι τί σε δεῖ ποιεῖν | 9:6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. |
| 9:7 οἱ δὲ ἄνδρες οἱ συνοδεύοντες αὐτῷ εἱστήκεισαν ἐννεοί, ἀκούοντες μὲν τῆς φωνῆς μηδένα δὲ θεωροῦντες | 9:7 And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man. |
| 9:8 ἠγέρθη δὲ ὁ σαῦλος ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς ἀνεῳγμένων δὲ τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν αὐτοῦ οὐδένα ἔβλεπεν χειραγωγοῦντες δὲ αὐτὸν εἰσήγαγον εἰς δαμασκόν | 9:8 And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus. |
| 9:9 καὶ ἦν ἡμέρας τρεῖς μὴ βλέπων καὶ οὐκ ἔφαγεν οὐδὲ ἔπιεν | 9:9 And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink. |
At ille ait: Ecce ego, Domine. | Acts 9:10 ἦν δέ τις μαθητὴς ἐν δαμασκῷ ὀνόματι ἁνανίας καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν ὁ κύριος ἐν ὁράματι ἁνανία ὁ δὲ εἶπεν ἰδού, ἐγώ κύριε | Acts 9:10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord. |
| 9:11 ὁ δὲ κύριος πρὸς αὐτόν ἀναστὰς πορεύθητι ἐπὶ τὴν ῥύμην τὴν καλουμένην εὐθεῖαν καὶ ζήτησον ἐν οἰκίᾳ ἰούδα σαῦλον ὀνόματι ταρσέα ἰδού, γὰρ προσεύχεται | 9:11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth, |
| 9:12 καὶ εἶδεν ἐν ὁράματι ἄνδρα ὀνόματι ἁνανίαν εἰσελθόντα καὶ ἐπιθέντα αὐτῷ χεῖρα, ὅπως ἀναβλέψῃ | 9:12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight. |
9:13 Respondit autem Ananias: Domine, audivi a multis de viro hoc, quanta mala fecerit sanctis tuis in Jerusalem: | 9:13 ἀπεκρίθη δὲ ὁ ἁνανίας κύριε ἄκήκοα ἀπὸ πολλῶν περὶ τοῦ ἀνδρὸς τούτου ὅσα κακὰ ἐποίησεν τοῖς ἁγίοις σου ἐν ἰερουσαλήμ | 9:13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem: |
| 9:14 καὶ ὧδε ἔχει ἐξουσίαν παρὰ τῶν ἀρχιερέων δῆσαι πάντας τοὺς ἐπικαλουμένους τὸ ὄνομά σου | 9:14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name. |
| 9:15 εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς αὐτὸν ὁ κύριος πορεύου ὅτι σκεῦος ἐκλογῆς μοι ἐστίν οὗτος τοῦ βαστάσαι τὸ ὄνομά μου ἐνώπιον ἐθνῶν καὶ βασιλέων υἱῶν τε ἰσραήλ | 9:15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: |
| 9:16 ἐγὼ γὰρ ὑποδείξω αὐτῷ ὅσα δεῖ αὐτὸν ὑπὲρ τοῦ ὀνόματός μου παθεῖν | 9:16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake. |
| 9:17 ἀπῆλθεν δὲ ἁνανίας καὶ εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν καὶ ἐπιθεὶς ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν τὰς χεῖρας εἶπεν σαοὺλ ἀδελφέ ὁ κύριος ἀπέσταλκέν με ἰησοῦς ὁ ὀφθείς σοι ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ ᾗ ἤρχου ὅπως ἀναβλέψῃς καὶ πλησθῇς πνεύματος ἁγίου | 9:17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. |
| 9:18 καὶ εὐθέως ἀπέπεσον ἀπὸ τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν αὐτοῦ ὡσεὶ λεπίδες ἀνέβλεψέν τε παραχρῆμα, καὶ ἀναστὰς ἐβαπτίσθη | 9:18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized. |
| 9:19 καὶ λαβὼν τροφὴν ἐνίσχυσεν ἐγένετο δὲ ὁ σαῦλος μετὰ τῶν ἐν δαμασκῷ μαθητῶν ἡμέρας τινάς | 9:19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus. |
Acts 9:20 Et continuo in synagogis prædicabat Jesum, quoniam hic est Filius Dei. | Acts 9:20 καὶ εὐθέως ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς ἐκήρυσσεν τὸν χριστὸν, ὅτι οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ θεοῦ | Acts 9:20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God. |
| 9:21 ἐξίσταντο δὲ πάντες οἱ ἀκούοντες καὶ ἔλεγον οὐχ οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ πορθήσας ἕν ἰερουσαλὴμ τοὺς ἐπικαλουμένους τὸ ὄνομα τοῦτο καὶ ὧδε εἰς τοῦτο ἐληλύθει ἵνα δεδεμένους αὐτοὺς ἀγάγῃ ἐπὶ τοὺς ἀρχιερεῖς | 9:21 But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests? |
| 9:22 σαῦλος δὲ μᾶλλον ἐνεδυναμοῦτο καὶ συνέχυνεν τοὺς ἰουδαίους τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν δαμασκῷ συμβιβάζων ὅτι οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ χριστός | 9:22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ. |
| 9:23 ὡς δὲ ἐπληροῦντο ἡμέραι ἱκαναί συνεβουλεύσαντο οἱ ἰουδαῖοι ἀνελεῖν αὐτόν | 9:23 And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him: |
| 9:24 ἐγνώσθη δὲ τῷ σαύλῳ ἡ ἐπιβουλὴ αὐτῶν παρετηροῦν τε τὰς πύλας ἡμέρας τε καὶ νυκτὸς ὅπως αὐτὸν ἀνέλωσιν | 9:24 But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him. |
| 9:25 λαβόντες δὲ αὐτὸν οἱ μαθηταὶ νυκτὸς καθῆκαν διὰ τοῦ τείχους χαλάσαντες ἐν σπυρίδι | 9:25 Then the disciples took him by night, and let him down by the wall in a basket. |
| 9:26 παραγενόμενος δὲ ὁ σαῦλος εἰς ἰερουσαλὴμ ἐπείρᾶτο κολλᾶσθαι τοῖς μαθηταῖς καὶ πάντες ἐφοβοῦντο αὐτόν μὴ πιστεύοντες ὅτι ἐστὶν μαθητής | 9:26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple. |
| 9:27 βαρναβᾶς δὲ ἐπιλαβόμενος αὐτὸν ἤγαγεν πρὸς τοὺς ἀποστόλους καὶ διηγήσατο αὐτοῖς πῶς ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ εἶδεν τὸν κύριον καὶ ὅτι ἐλάλησεν αὐτῷ καὶ πῶς ἐν δαμασκῷ ἐπαῤῥησιάσατο ἐν τῷ ὀνόματι τοῦ ἰησοῦ | 9:27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus. |
| 9:28 καὶ ἦν μετ᾽ αὐτῶν εἰσπορευόμενος καὶ ἐκπορευόμενος ἐν ἰερουσαλήμ | 9:28 And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem. And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, |
| 9:29 καὶ παῤῥησιαζόμενος ἕν τῷ ὀνόματί τοῦ κυρίου ἰησοῦ ἐλάλει τε καὶ συνεζήτει πρὸς τοὺς ἑλληνιστάς οἱ δὲ ἐπεχείρουν αὐτόν ἀνελεῖν | 9:29 and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him. |
| Acts 9:30 ἐπιγνόντες δὲ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ κατήγαγον αὐτὸν εἰς καισάρειαν καὶ ἐξαπέστειλαν αὐτὸν εἰς ταρσόν | Acts 9:30 Which when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus. |
| 9:31 αἱ μὲν οὖν ἐκκλησίαι καθ᾽ ὅλης τῆς ἰουδαίας καὶ γαλιλαίας καὶ σαμαρείας εἶχον εἰρήνην οἰκοδομουμέναι καὶ πορευομέναι τῷ φόβῳ τοῦ κυρίου καὶ τῇ παρακλήσει τοῦ ἁγίου πνεύματος ἐπληθύνοντο | 9:31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied. |
| 9:32 ἐγένετο δὲ πέτρον διερχόμενον διὰ πάντων κατελθεῖν καὶ πρὸς τοὺς ἁγίους τοὺς κατοικοῦντας λύδδαν | 9:32 And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda. |
| 9:33 εὗρεν δὲ ἐκεῖ ἄνθρωπόν τινα αἰνέαν ὀνόματι ἐξ ἐτῶν ὀκτὼ κατακείμενον ἐπὶ κραββάτω ὃς ἦν παραλελυμένος | 9:33 And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy. |
9:34 Et ait illi Petrus: Ænea, sanat te Dominus Jesus Christus: surge, et sterne tibi. Et continuo surrexit. | 9:34 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὁ πέτρος αἰνέα ἰᾶταί σε ἰησοῦς ὁ χριστός ἀνάστηθι καὶ στρῶσον σεαυτῷ καὶ εὐθέως ἀνέστη | 9:34 And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately. |
| 9:35 καὶ εἶδον αὐτὸν πάντες οἱ κατοικοῦντες λύδδαν καὶ τὸν σαρῶναν, οἵτινες ἐπέστρεψαν ἐπὶ τὸν κύριον | 9:35 And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord. |
9:36 In Joppe autem fuit quædam discipula, nomine Tabitha, quæ interpretata dicitur Dorcas. Hæc erat plena operibus bonis et eleemosynis quas faciebat. | 9:36 ἐν ἰόππῃ δέ τις ἦν μαθήτρια ὀνόματι ταβιθά ἣ διερμηνευομένη λέγεται δορκάς αὕτη ἦν πλήρης ἀγαθῶν ἔργων καὶ ἐλεημοσυνῶν ὧν ἐποίει | 9:36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did. |
| 9:37 ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις ἀσθενήσασαν αὐτὴν ἀποθανεῖν λούσαντες δὲ αὐτὴν ἔθηκαν ἐν ὑπερῴῳ | 9:37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber. |
9:38 Cum autem prope esset Lydda ad Joppen, discipuli, audientes quia Petrus esset in ea, miserunt duos viros ad eum, rogantes: Ne pigriteris venire ad nos. | 9:38 ἐγγὺς δὲ οὔσης λύδδης τῇ ἰόππῃ οἱ μαθηταὶ ἀκούσαντες ὅτι πέτρος ἐστὶν ἐν αὐτῇ ἀπέστειλαν δύο ἄνδρας πρὸς αὐτὸν παρακαλοῦντες μὴ ὀκνήσαι διελθεῖν ἕως αὐτῶν | 9:38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them. |
| 9:39 ἀναστὰς δὲ πέτρος συνῆλθεν αὐτοῖς ὃν παραγενόμενον ἀνήγαγον εἰς τὸ ὑπερῷον καὶ παρέστησαν αὐτῷ πᾶσαι αἱ χῆραι κλαίουσαι καὶ ἐπιδεικνύμεναι χιτῶνας καὶ ἱμάτια ὅσα ἐποίει μετ᾽ αὐτῶν οὖσα ἡ δορκάς | 9:39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them. |
At illa aperuit oculos suos: et viso Petro, resedit. | Acts 9:40 ἐκβαλὼν δὲ ἔξω πάντας ὁ πέτρος θεὶς τὰ γόνατα προσηύξατο καὶ ἐπιστρέψας πρὸς τὸ σῶμα εἶπεν ταβιθά ἀνάστηθι ἡ δὲ ἤνοιξεν τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτῆς καὶ ἰδοῦσα τὸν πέτρον ἀνεκάθισεν | Acts 9:40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up. |
| 9:41 δοὺς δὲ αὐτῇ χεῖρα ἀνέστησεν αὐτήν φωνήσας δὲ τοὺς ἁγίους καὶ τὰς χήρας παρέστησεν αὐτὴν ζῶσαν | 9:41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive. |
| 9:42 γνωστὸν δὲ ἐγένετο καθ᾽ ὅλης τῆς ἰόππης καὶ πολλοὶ ἐπίστευσαν ἐπὶ τὸν κύριον | 9:42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord. |
| 9:43 ἐγένετο δὲ ἡμέρας ἱκανὰς μεῖναι αὐτόν ἐν ἰόππῃ παρά τινι σίμωνι βυρσεῖ | 9:43 And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner. |
