Introduction 1.1

This is a word study is about the Hebrew word חֹדֶשׁ, 'chodesh' meaning 'month', and gives every verse where the Hebrew word "chodesh" appears. To obtain a true understanding of this word these scriptures need to be meditated on and notes made of their meaning in different contexts. 29:12 And on the fifteenth day of the seventh month you shall have a holy convocation; you shall do no servile work, and you shall keep a feast to Yahweh seven days:
33:3 And they departed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the day after the passover the children of Israel went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians.

2 Chronicles 2:4 Behold, I build a house to the name of Yahweh my God, to dedicate it to him, and to burn before him sweet incense, and for the continual showbread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the Sabbaths, and on the new months, and on the solemn feasts of Yahweh our God. This is an ordinance for ever to Israel.

Ezra 3:1 And when the seventh month came, and the children of Israel were in the cities, the people gathered themselves together as one man to Jerusalem.
3:5 And afterward offered the continual burnt offering, both of the new months, and of all the set feasts of Yahweh that were consecrated, and of every one who willingly offered a freewill offering to Yahweh.
3:6 From the first day of the seventh month they began to offer burnt offerings to Yahweh. But the foundation of the temple of Yahweh was not yet laid.
3:8 Now in the second year of their coming unto the house of God at Jerusalem, in the second month, Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel began, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the remnant of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all they that came out of the captivity unto Jerusalem; and appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to set forward the work of the house of Yahweh.
6:19 And the children of the captivity kept the passover upon the fourteenth day of the first month.
7:8 And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king.
7:9 For upon the first day of the first month he began to go up from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month he came to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him.

Esther 2:12 Now when every maid's turn came to go in to king Ahasuerus, after that she had been twelve months, according to the manner of the women, (for so were the days of their purifications accomplished, six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with sweet odours, and with other things for the purifying of the women;)

3:7 In the first month, that is, the month Nisan, in the twelfth year of king Ahasuerus, they cast Pur, that is, the lot, before Haman from day to day, and from month to month, to the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar.
3:12 Then were the king's scribes called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and there was written according to all that Haman had commanded to the king's lieutenants, and to the governors that were over every province, and to the rulers of every people of every province according to its writing, and to every people after their language; in the name of king Ahasuerus was it written, and sealed with the king's ring.

9:22 As the days that the Jews rested from their enemies, and the month which was turned unto them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning into a good day: that they should make them days of feasting and joy, and of sending portions one to another, and gifts to the poor.
