Ecclesiastes 1:3 What profit is there to a man of all his labor which he takes under the sun?
1:13 And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this evil task has God given to the sons of men to be exercised by it.
2:3 I sought in my heart to give myself to wine, yet acquainting my heart with wisdom; and to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was that good for the sons of men, which they should do under the heaven all the days of their life.
2:8 I gathered me also silver and gold, and the peculiar treasure of kings and of the provinces: I gat me men singers and women singers, and the delights of the sons of men, as musical instruments, and that of all sorts.
2:12 And I turned myself to behold wisdom, and madness, and folly: for what can the man do that comes after the king? even that which has been already done.
2:18 Yes, I hated all my labor which I had taken under the sun: because I should leave it to the man who shall be after me.
2:21 For there is a man whose labor is in wisdom, and in knowledge, and in equity; yet to a man who has not laboured in it shall he leave it for his portion. This also is vanity and a great evil.
2:22 For what is there for man of all his labor, and of the vexation of his heart, in which he has laboured under the sun?
2:24 There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labor. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.
2:26 For God gives to a man who is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he gives travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him who is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.
3:10 I have seen the travail, which God has given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
3:11 He has made every thing beautiful in his time: also he has set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God makes from the beginning to the end.
3:13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labor, it is the gift of God.
3:18 I said in my heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.
3:19 For that which befalls the sons of men befalls beasts; even one thing befalls them: as the one dies, so dies the other; yes, they have all one breath; so that a man has no pre-eminence above a beast: for all is vanity.
3:21 Who knows the spirit of man who goes upward, and the spirit of the beast that goes downward to the earth?
3:22 Therefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?
5:19 Every man also to whom God has given riches and wealth, and has given him power to eat of it, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labor; this is the gift of God.
6:1 There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, and it is common among men:
6:7 All the labor of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled.
6:10 That which has been is named already, and it is known that it is man: neither may he contend with him who is mightier than he.
6:11 Seeing there be many things that increase vanity, what is man the better?
6:12 For who knows what is good for man in this life, all the days of his vain life which he spends as a shadow? For who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?
7:2 It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart.
7:3 Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.
7:14 In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also has set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him.
7:20 For there is not a righteous man upon earth, who does good, and does not sins.
7:28 Which yet my soul seeks, but I do not find: one man among a thousand I have found; but a woman among all those I have not found.
7:29 Lo, this only have I found, that God has made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.
8:1 Who is as the wise man? And who knows the interpretation of a thing? A man's wisdom makes his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed.
8:6 Because to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man is great upon him.
8:8 There is no man who has power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither does he have power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those who are given to it.
8:9 All this have I seen, and applied my heart to every work that is done under the sun: there is a time when one man rules over a man for evil to himself.
8:11 Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
8:15 Then I commended mirth, because nothing is good for man under the sun, but to eat, and to drink, and to be merry: for that shall abide with him of his labor the days of his life, which God gives him under the sun.
8:17 Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labors to seek it out, yet he shall not find it: yes further; though a wise man thinks to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it.
9:1 For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: no man knows either love or hatred by all that is before them.
9:3 This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event to all: yes, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.
9:12 For man also knows not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly upon them.
9:15 Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man.
10:14 A fool also is full of words: a man cannot tell what shall be; and what shall be after him, who can tell him?
11:8 But if a man lives many years, and rejoices in them all; yet let him remember the days of darkness; for they shall be many. All that comes is vanity.
12:5 Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goes to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:
12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

Isaiah 2:9 And a man is bowed down, and a man is humbled: but you do not lift them up.

2:17 And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and Yahweh alone shall be exalted in that day.
2:20 In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;
5:15 And a man is bowed down, and a man is humbled, and the eyes of the proud are humbled:
6:11 Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,
6:12 And Yahweh has removed men far away, and there is a great forsaking in the midst of the land.

29:21 Who make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him who reproves in the gate, and turn aside the righteous by empty pleas.
31:3 Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When Yahweh shall stretch out his hand, both he who helps shall fall, and he who is helped shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.
31:8 Then shall the Assyrian fall with the sword not of a man; and the sword, not of a man, shall devour him: but he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall become forced labor.
37:19 And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.
38:11 I said, I shall not see Yahweh, even Yahweh, in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world.
43:4 Since you were precious in my sight, you have been honourable, and I have loved you: therefore will I give men for you, and people for your life.
44:11 Behold, all his fellows shall be ashamed: and the workmen, they are of men: let them all be gathered together, let them stand up; yet they shall fear, and they shall be ashamed together.
44:13 The carpenter stretches out his rule; he marks it out with a line; he fits it with planes, and he marks it out with the compass, and makes it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house.
44:15 Then shall it be for a man to burn: for he will take of it, and warm himself; yes, he kindles it, and bakes bread; yes, he makes a god, and worships it: he makes it a graven image, and falls down to it.
45:12 I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.
47:3 Your nakedness shall be uncovered, yes, your shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet you as a man.
51:12 I, even I, am he who comforts you: who are you, that you should be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man who shall be made as grass;
52:14 As many were astonished at you; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:
56:2 Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who lays hold on it; who keeps the Sabbath from polluting it, and keeps his hand from doing any evil.
58:5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? A day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him ? will you call this a fast, and an acceptable day to Yahweh?

Jeremiah 2:6 Nor did they say, Where is Yahweh who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, who led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?
4:25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens had fled.
7:20 Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh; Behold, my anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.

16:20 Shall a man make gods for himself, and they are no gods?
17:5 Thus says Yahweh; Cursed is the man who trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from Yahweh.
21:6 And I will strike the inhabitants of this city, both man and beast: they shall die of a great pestilence.
27:5 I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it to whom it seemed right in my eyes.
31:27 Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast.
31:30 But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man who eats the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.
32:19 Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for your eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:
32:20 For you have set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt to this day, and in Israel, and among men; and you have made a name for yourself, as at this day;
32:43 And fields shall be bought in this land, of which you say, It is desolate without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.
33:5 They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but it is to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in my anger and in my fury, and for all whose wickedness I have hidden my face from this city.
33:10 Thus says Yahweh; Again there shall be heard in this place, which you say shall be desolate without man and without beast, even in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, that are desolate, without man, and without inhabitant, and without beast,
33:12 Thus says Yahweh of hosts; Again in this place, which is desolate without man and without beast, and in all its cities, shall be a habitation of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.

47:2 Thus says Yahweh; Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall be an overflowing flood, and shall overflow the land, and all that is in it; the city, and those who dwell in it: then the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall howl.
49:15 For, lo, I will make you small among the heathen, and despised among men.
