Introduction 2.2

This is a thorough word study about the meaning of the Greek word νουμηνία, 'noumenia' meaning 'new month' (Strong's 3561). It gives the only verse where the word 'noumenia' appears in the New Testament, but also adds the places where it was used in the Old Testament Septuagint. Most bibles translate this word as 'new moon', but evidence for that interpretation does not come from the word itself, nor from scripture. I have found no evidence in the bible that they ever looked for a new moon to start a new month. To obtain a true understanding of this word these scriptures usually need to be meditated on and notes made of their meaning in different contexts. This requires putting scriptures together where they seem to have a similar meaning, and then meditating even more. In this case it will be profitable to also consider the Hebrew word for 'new' and 'month'. The truth will be revealed by the Holy Spirit, who has been given to guide us into all truth (John 16:13). Wherever this word noumenia appears in the Greek, the translation of it is highlighted with yellow. In Greek the suffixes and some prepositions are not added to the basic word to enhance the meaning, except for case endings, so the associated suffix or preposition has not been included in highlighted text. Every blessing be to those who seek the truth of God's word.

#2.2 New Testament Scriptures for νουμηνία 'noumenia' meaning 'new month' Strong's 3561

Introduction 2.3

This Greek word for new month 'νουμηνία' has a slightly different spelling of 'νεομηνία' in some places, so these are indicated. There are also four places where the word μήν for month was used instead of νουμηνία (1 Samuel 20:24, 2 Chronicles 8:13, Isaiah 66:23, Amos 8:5) but these are not listed here.
